Herds of elk and exotic deer roaming about while Rhino's stare you down as you drive by. They have more bears then I can count, the same goes for the tigers. There were 4 big maned male lions sitting together under a tree, while at least 10 females were huddled together sleeping. You don't just see one or two elephants, but 10 or more standing so close to the trucks you can almost touch them. The good thing is, you will see animals and lots of them! This part was really great. Even with the rain guard, on the end seat, you'll get dripped on the entire time. If you get on a truck without one and you're on the end seat you will get drenched. If it's raining, as of right now, only 6 of the 20 trucks have rain guards. If they hadn't made this a stop on the safari, but put it at the END, those who wanted to skip it could have without causing problems. Unless you have to use the bathroom, I would stay on the truck and save yourself the hassle. Frankly, I think Camp Aventura is a waste of time. At capacity, if a lot of people decide to do this, it will cause major headaches as now everyone waiting to finish the safari, will have to wait even longer for an empty truck. A group came through and refused to disembark their truck and get off at the Camp. The trucks come through about every 15 minutes. Then finally you're back where you started and the safari is over We waited 30 minutes at Camp Aventura to get on the second truck to finish the safari. You wait to get back on a second truck and go through 4 or 5 more gated sections with even more animals. It sounds cool, but I can imagine the lines will be long for this also, so add another hour or more to the entire safari (I think it costs extra too).

A zip line is to open in the beginning of June which will go over the bear sanctuary. In the rain, it was a mud pit and will be a dust bowl in summer. There were a few bathrooms and some picnic tables, but no refreshment stand. We saw no Giraffe feeding as they claim on the website. You also can pet a rabbit and talk to a parrot. All this is, is a very small exhibit of a few snakes, a turtle and a sloth. Then you stop and disembark the truck at Camp Aventura.
It starts as you wait to load up on the first of two trucks which will take you through 3 or 4 gated sections of different types of animals. Bring a lot of patience because they'll be a lot of waiting around in lines.

When the park is at full capacity, it's going to be a nightmare. The park was empty and it still took us 2 hours 45 minutes to go through the safari, start to finish. We were there on the very rainy Tuesday after memorial day. It does not say this anywhere on the website, so plan accordingly. They definitely need to work out the kinks and it's going to have major issues when the park is at full capacity. The new Safari Off Road Adventure is such a great concept, but not executed well and very poorly designed.
